Working with a State Government Department based in Geelong, we are currently looking to appoint a Community Stakeholder Engagement Advisor for a 12 month contract with a possible extension based on project requirements.

Your new role
Working closely with Communications and Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for leading community and stakeholder engagement activities related to Infrastructure Services projects.

In this role you will provide specialist engagement advice to internal stakeholders, development and delivery of engagement plans, stakeholder liaison, complaints and issues resolution and fostering a culture of community engagement.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

• Leading the implementation of engagement activities such as face-to-face discussions with customers/landowners, development of collateral, information displays and community events/meetings
• Coaching infrastructure internal stakeholders in best-practice community and stakeholder engagement methodologies

• Leading the development, implementation and review of C&SE systems for Infrastructure Services

• Highly developed written and oral communication skills with excellent attention to detail
• Excellent time management, prioritisation and organisational skills and an ability to meet tight deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to liaise in a professional manner with a diverse internal and external stakeholder group
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and work autonomously with limited guidance
• Current working rights for Victoria, Australia
• Current driver’s license

Tertiary or Postgraduate qualifications in Communications, Marketing or Public Relations (or similar) and previous experience in a similar role in within the public sector will be advantageous. IAP2 certification will also be highly regarded.
