About your new role:
Working as an energetic and highly organised Administration Officer you will be working for an independent statutory agency who are renowned for their implementation of new procedures and best practice approach to supporting people with disability. This high profile government organisation plays an integral role in the community, determining funding, linking participants and providers. Located in Geelong with limited guidance you will be required to produce high quality of work within tight deadlines. You will work collaboratively within the compensation team with a focus on gathering information from participants, liasing with third parties in order to make informed decisions and determining compensation recoveries to participant plans.
Please note that all successful candidates must hold Permanent Residency and will be required to undertake a National Criminal History check along with appropriate Working with Children check.
Duties:
- Seeking information on the compensation available or previously received by participants
- Communicating with internal and external stakeholders including - participants, informal supports, statutory bodies, insurance schemes and legal practitioners
- Organising, analysing and validating information in relation to compensation matters
- Collating information to support the calculation of compensation reduction amounts in accordance with policies and procedures
- Maintaining spreadsheets and databases detailing the progress of work and providing weekly reports
Skills and Experience:
- Experience working in high level Administration and/or Insurance, Law or Compensation Claims
- Previous experience in the community, allied health and/or the disability sector
- An ability to respond to and prioritise competing and often urgent requests in a calm and efficient manner
- Confidence in building relationships with and working with a wide range of different people
- Have adaptable and strong communication skills both verbal and written
- An ability to work across teams and adapt quickly to a changing environment
- A can do attitude and high attention to detail
- Experience in a compensation legal, insurance or claims related industries would also be highly regarded
