The Opportunity

On behalf of our Federal Government Agency client based in Geelong we are looking for an experienced Project Officer to join the Market Enablement Team. The team support the development and implementation of the organisations market stewardship role around policy and strategy development, local area market monitoring

This is a contract role until March 2020 paying $51.50 per hour based in Geelong. Joining this agency provides an opportunity to not only give back to the community but to also contribute to the organisation’s success in delivering essential support to members of the community requiring diverse and complex support services.

About the Role

This strategic role will support the team in managing and identifying short term market risks and prepare reports and ministerial briefings for the ongoing development of local area market monitoring.

Duties include;

• Undertaking policy and program development, review and evaluation of projects to address current and emerging issues in relation to market enablement
• Liaise, communicate and consult with internal and external stakeholders to secure their engagement
• Prepare high quality written advice in the form of reports, discussion papers, ministerial submissions and correspondence
• Translate technical and complex information concisely, including interpreting market data and presenting information to diverse audiences
• Participate in internal working groups with other government and non government entities

About You

To be successful, you will have;

• Tertiary qualifications in Public Administration or a related area
• Previous experience in policy development or program management
• Experience within Australian Government
• Graphic design and/or desktop publishing qualification
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Acute awareness of the longer term strategic, political and operational outcome
• Ability to work within an ever changing environment
